Geophysical Exploration

Irrigation is the artificial application of water to the soil, and is used for assisting the growing of crops. It assumes a particularly high level of importance for crop production during periods of drought, and also to protect crops from frost.

In the search for new sources of irrigation water, geophysical exploration techniques are widely used particularly in remote regions of the world where groundwater records may be non-existent.
